"I cannot describe my dept of gratitude to the generous and wise
Arthur. I
can add an anecdote, though, from my supervision with him while I was
still
in training. Following weeks of attacks by my patient, I acted in. He
gave
me the following interpretation: "have I ever told you that pigs
understand
projective identification?" He proceeded with a story about watching
a
farmer who was getting pigs of a lorry while hitting them with a stick.
Arthur thought to himself that the next pig was going to bite the farmer
-
and he did. Not only was his response humorous and kind, it was most
helpfully didactic!"
Thank you, Gianna, for the moving, sophisticated and dignified memorial
event.
